party on my fellow vino lovers

What better way is there to begin my blogging journey than with the event I'm most proud of putting on. In lieu of a traditional housewarming party, I threw a "South of the Equator & Under $10 Wine Tasting Party". And instead of gifts of boring household items like blenders, toasters, and Tupperware, I had people bring me gifts of wine!

My genius knows no bounds.

The birth of the housewarming wine tasting party
combine 1 part lover of wine, 1 part new homeowner (read broke-as-a-joke), 1 part new found passion for event planning/hosting, and you have yourself a wine tasting party that boasts wines that are all under $10 and damn good!

I served five different varieties of wine

each person received a personalized etched wine glass with their initials and a wine menu which has a description of each wine, it's origin and the cost
fun details around the condo made it fun and even more authentic
Not pictured was a table FULL of food. I had carbs, antipasto platters, and desserts available for guests to nosh on throughout the evening. If you're going to encourage your guests to drink heavily, it's best to offer a little something to absorb as much as possible.

Needless to say, I received major compliments from my guests; albeit they're a touch biased ;) This took weeks of R&D, and several nights of DIY glass etching, designing, and perfecting but in the end every minute spent on making this party happened was well worth it to see how pleased, impressed, and happy my guests were.
